How To Do Savannah, Georgia In A Weekend

A few weeks ago my family and I took a trip to Savannah and this is probably a very unpopular opinion but it wasn't all that it's cracked down to be. We had three full days to spend in Savannah and by day three I think we were all wishing we had only spent two days here and left the third day onto Ormond Beach. So if you're ever planning a trip to Savannah, I wanted to share how you can do it all in just a weekend.

Saturday: Spend your day exploring The Historic District. You can start off with breakfast at The Paris Market which is both a gift shop and café. Hands down one of the cutest shops in Savannah and definitely picture worthy.

You can continue to shop your way through Savannah from there with all of the cute little shops. I highly recommend stopping in Capital Bee Company. A cute little shop with a honey bar in the back corner - the honey is SO good. Also if you have pup, you'll definitely want to stop into Woof Gang Bakery. They had them everywhere in Savannah it seemed like, so you won't miss it.

Then, stop in for a midday pick-me-up coffee at The Coffee Fox - I got the Horchata Latte and it was delicious!

After you're finished in The Historic District, make your way to River Street - I think this is where I spent the most money! Most definitely make a stop into Wet Willie's. Did you know in Savannah you can walk around with your alcoholic drinks? I got a mango slushy and my mom got a pina colada one - so good.

And you MUST stop into the River Street Market. If you follow me on Instagram then you saw the super cute rings I snagged at this market. One from Plantation Jewels and the other from JK Designs. I think we all loved River Street and there was a cute boutique we popped into while leaving!

There are lots of restaurants along River Street, but we had reservations at The Olde Pink House. It was a cute place and I got a pasta dish with shrimp and scallops, but my family didn't really care for it too much. To end your day and grab some dessert, head over to Leopold's. You'll more than likely have to wait in a line, but it's 100% worth it. Take a walk through Forsyth Park as you enjoy your ice cream.

Sunday: Take a day trip to Tybee Island. Honestly if I were ever going to go back to Georgia I would stay in Tybee Island. Unfortunately about 10 minutes of us getting to the beach we had to leave because it started to storm, but we waited it out in the car and after about half an hour it stopped and we went back to the beach for a little. Besides the beach, I wanted to wonder the town, check out the Light Station, and visit some of the local boutiques but the rain had other plans! I also wanted to check out Sweetie Pies for some gelato, but they're only open on weekends.

We ate dinner at A-J's Dockside which was delicious! It was a cute little restaurant right on the water. We got there around 4-4:30 which was perfect timing because we had no wait, but if you went later in the evening and sat outside you would've gotten a gorgeous view of the sunset.

I also got zero cell service on Tybee Island, so if you're looking to get away from everything for a weekend this is a good place to go!

If you've been to Savannah before, what were you favorite things to do or places to go?

Flirty Peplum Velvet Skirt

Happy Friday, friends! This week flew by - It rained basically all week which sucked and the first big event that I planned for my job happened yesterday! Eek!!

Today on the blog I'm sharing a gorgeous flirty mini skirt that I loved styling while in Savannah. I bought this in the spring when I saw Brittany from Loverly Grey style it with a sweatshirt and booties and fell in love with the look. I'm also 100% guilty of buying things and waiting months to wear them.

I decided to style this skirt around simple pieces to make it pop. You can never go wrong with a white tank and some nude heels! These heels are also super comfy and highly recommended!! I wore them all day while exploring Savannah and my only issue was towards the end of the day I got a blister on the back of one foot, but I'm thinking that was because it was my first time wearing them so they weren't broken in. This skirt is also on sale for $10, originally $80! Only XXS-Small and X-Large are available - I'm wearing an XXS for reference (I definitely could've gone with an XS, it's a bit tight). If your size is available, go snag one before it sells out because it won't last long!

Express Off The Shoulder Eyelet Top

The Mondays after returning from vacation are always the worst! But I must say, there's no better feeling than coming back to your own place. Plus it was a very refreshing week before a busy, BUSY week ahead!!

Today on the blog I'm sharing one of my favorite looks from vacation. It rained the day I planned on wearing it so I didn't get as much use out of it as I'd hoped, but I wore it from dinner to mini golfing in hot and humid weather and it's definitely a functional look.

My mom originally purchased this top for me in pink in an XS and heads up, it runs small. She exchanged it for the white in a small and I have to say, I love the white so much more. It's a cute and lightweight shirt that paired perfectly with denim shorts. For dinner I wore the nude heels (which are super comfy) and changed into blush sandals for mini golf. The perfect vacation, or every day, look!

A Flirty And Feminine Gingham Dress

Typically I get blog posts done the night before because I never have the time to do them in the morning, but being on vacation has my schedule all over the place. It really doesn't even feel like a Friday to me either because I just let my brain forget all of my responsibilities this past week (kind of) and it was 100% needed!

Today is our last day of vacation, sadly, and we're getting ready to head out to the beach to enjoy some sun before it rains - We're hoping it just passes by! So todays post will be short and sweet.

When this dress first came to Express I would eye it up like no other, lol. Like my wardrobe NEEDED it but I've been trying to cut down on how much money I spend on clothes so each time I'd just give it a sad face and walk by the store. But a few months later I found it sitting on the clearance rack, in my size, for 60-70% off and if that wasn't a sign that I needed that dress than I don't know what was 😂 I've loved wearing this dress this summer - It's such a cute and feminine addition to your wardrobe. My personal favorite way to wear it has been with a pair of sneakers because I think they just fit the look, but I've also worn this to work with sandals and loved it just as much. I obviously had to add some fun detail with my Betsey Johnson phone purse!

The High Waisted Shorts Your Work Wardrobe Needs

Today on the blog I wanted to share a pair of shorts I have been loving lately that are perfect for the office! It's hard to find work shorts because a lot of the time they run big on me since I'm petite, so I don't really bother looking. Safe to say I was extremely happy when I found these!

They're comfortable to wear for a day at the office and super easy to style. I personally loved styling them with this polka dot tank because they bring a fun vibe to your everyday workwear. But you could easily opt for a cute button-up shirt or just a solid colored tank and add a blazer to it. I will definitely be getting my use out of these while the weather is still warm! And I'm hoping to transfer these into the beginning of fall with some cute sweaters.

One thing I don't like about the white pair though is they aren't lined so they're majorly see through. When I wore this look to the office I couldn't tuck my shirt in or else you could see everything, which is something I didn't realize when I purchased them. I still love them though and want to stock up on the other colors! Just a warning for those who want to purchase the white pair.
