Date Night Attire For The Guy Who Doesn't Like To Dress Up

If there's one thing that makes Tyler and I different from one another it's our sense in fashion. I'm a fashion blogger, so obviously when it comes to fashion I'm all about it. I love spending time putting together new looks and overall just dressing nice. Tyler on the other hand wears the same thing every day (not literally), a t-shirt, jeans, and cowboy boots--It's a very rare occasion seeing him in sneakers anymore. Haha, don't get me wrong now, I love him and wouldn't change him for anything. So his love for casual attire has inspired me to step outside the lines with a different blog post.

I talked to Tyler a few days ago about this post and he even agreed with me that dressing up just isn't something he likes to do. But sometimes when we have our date nights I'd like him to ditch the T-shirt for something nicer, ya know? Mens date night attire always depends on personal style. For example, Tyler is obviously more of a casual guy so adding a flannel to his usual jeans and boots makes the perfect date night look! Just try not to force your sense of style onto your boyfriend.

It was also fun having him infront of the camera for once ;)

Five Pieces You Need This Fall

1. Fur Slides: I own the Steve Madden inexpensive pair and they are amazing! They're super comfy and pair with everything. Although I do wish I owned a pair of Gucci fur slides, the knock offs are just as good.

2. Cozy Cardigan: Cozy cardigans are a must for fall, and even winter! The one I listed has been on my wishlist for awhile now, but I'm just not sure how I feel about spending $150 for a sweater. I'm all about affordable fashion you guys, lol. I linked my most worn sweater under the save option--I love it so much I got it in three colors.

3. Blanket Scarves: I haven't been able to wear my scarves yet because the weather hasn't cooled down enough, which is annoying. But if you live somewhere where you're actually getting fall weather and you don't own a blanket scarf, whatcha doin?! Both options I linked are affordable.

4. An everyday handbag: When I'm cozied up in layers the last thing I typically want to do is add a huge handbag to the equation. It just makes for an uncomfortable situation, you know? So I love me a good crossbody. It's simple, light, and easy to carry.

5. A fun pair of pants: Ever since I saw the denim jeans with pearls floating around Instagram, I've been in love! I mean, how cute? My camo pants have been my favorite to style this fall, but I'm thinking I need to add more fun denim to my wardrobe.

Fun Prints & Bell Sleeves

I can't believe we're already in the last full week of October! Before you know it we're going to be in 2018--crazy how fast time flies.

If you follow me on Insta you've seen this dress before, but it's so fun I just had to blog it. What drew me to this dress to start with was the print. I love the mixture of prints and all the colors. It's such a perfect dress to wear in fall and transition into the winter season. I also adore these bell sleeves! It just adds to the fun of the dress.

This dress can be styled on it's own with your favorite pairs of shoes--the best thing about it is it'll look great with flats, heels, or booties. You can also add a vest or cardigan with it if it's cold out. I'll probably transition this into winter by adding some tights and continue pairing it with a fur vest.. I just love the way it looks together! If you don't already, go out and shop small at your local boutiques. That's where I've been finding some of my favorite pieces lately!

All You Need Is Love

It's Friday, Friday, gotta get down on F R I D A Y. Anyone else remember that song or is it just me..?

Sweatshirts have never really been an option when picking out outfits because I never knew how to dress them up. I live for casual looks, but I also like to add those details that make casual dressy. When I saw this sweatshirt I couldn't resist! It's soft and lightweight, making it the perfect piece for layering.

When I first decided to shoot a look around this sweatshirt I was going to do a laid back fall outfit, but as I was outfit planning I was coming up with so many looks so I thought it'd be fun to show a few ways to wear your favorite sweatshirt.

You can layer it with a button-down shirt, or if the sweatshirt matches a flannel pair it with that! I have a grey sweatshirt with a pink monogram on it that I love pairing with a pink flannel. I loved how this sweatshirt looked worn over a white button-down. Paired with jeans and some sneakers made for the perfect casual dressed up look.

Sweatshirt: Old Navy | Button-down: Gap | Jeans: Old Navy | Sneakers: These are the Michael Kors Kristy Canvas sneaker, I can't find them online to link, but I've seen a couple on Poshmark | Purse: Got for Christmas a few years ago, by Vince Camuto | Sunglasses: DIFF Eyewear

I am obsessed with this look! Who ever thought red dressy pants would pair perfectly with a sweatshirt? Not me. Of course you can dress it down a bit without the heel, but these pants are the perfect length only when I wear heels (short girl problems). The red pants just make this such a fun look. I have the same pair in blue that I'm probably going to style with this sweatshirt as well!

Pants: Purchased from The Limited when they were still around, similar pair here | Heels: Mix No. 6

Fun Fall Date Ideas

Monday-Friday Tyler and I never get to see each other. I work till 1:30 and he starts work at 3, so that leaves us with really no time for much of anything. Thankfully we both have Saturdays and Sundays free so we love finding new things to do together.. although being in the small town we are, finding things to do can sometimes be a huge struggle. So if you live in a small town like us, or are just simply looking for new things to do I put together a list of things Tyler and I enjoy!

1. Apple Picking
Never fails for a fun afternoon. Plus it'll make for a great photoshoot ;)

2. Hiking
Fall is the perfect time for a hike. Colorful leaves, great weather, and gorgeous views!

3. Carve Pumpkins
You're never too old to carve pumpkins. Use them for some front porch decorations.

4. Movie Night
A night in watching movies is never a night spent complaining. Grab a bottle of wine, or two, and throw on some old movies.

5. Eat Out Somewhere New
This is something Tyler and I have been doing a lot lately. After awhile going to the same places gets old, so find some place new and try some exotic foods!

6. Find Out What's Going On Local
This has consumed the past few weekends for Tyler and I, lol. We went to the Apple Festival, Choctober Fest, and Renaissance Faire--all so fun! See what's going on near you this month and attend a few of them.

7. Bake
Who doesn't like to bake? Bake some apple pies and cookies and add them as snacks to your movie night.

8. Wineries
My favorite thing to do. Spending an evening at your local winery, what's better than that? Also see if any wineries are having any fun events. Tyler and I went to Winestock at one of our local wineries and dressed up as hippies and drank wine.. it was fun.

9. Travel To A New City
Tyler and I love exploring new cities. I remember our first time in New York together, we had so much fun. Research a few cities/states near by that you've never been to before and plan a day trip.

10. Picnic
Find a lake or park and bring your favorite foods/wine.

11. Explore Your Own City
Ever since I graduated college and moved back home I've explored so much. I go new places to blog and end up finding some awesome shops or a good coffee shop.

12. Be Artsy
Go out and do a paint and sip night or go buy some art supplies and have a little fun at home, because nothing beats the comfort of your own home right?

13. Football Game
Whether it's a professional game, college, or even your hometown high school football team.. get out and see a game. Everyone loves football so why not!

14. Camping
If you don't love camping you're a crazy person! Just something about camping out in nature during fall is so dreamy. Plan a weekend away with some friends or your significant other, enjoy the peace and quiet and make some yummy s'mores.

15. Have A Fire
Snuggle up in a chunky sweater and blanket scarf.

16. Throw A Themed Party
Plan a Halloween party or a fun themed party and invite your closest friends over!

17. Star Gazing
Clearly we have a thing for the outdoors over here, lol.

18. Tour A Brewery
I surprised Tyler with a tour of Tröegs and it was so fun. I like beer, but barely know anything about it so it was definitely interesting!

Cozy Fall Look

If you follow me on Insta, you know that I live for cozy fall looks. Seriously, those sweaters that swallow me up are my favorite, how bout it? One of my favorite local boutiques, Nicole Taylor, sells a brand that consists of the comfiest sweaters. The cold shoulder top I styled in this post is from the same brand and I love it. When I was in a few weeks ago one of the first items I picked up for purchase was this off-the-shoulder sweater which is also from the same brand.. surprised? I'm probably going to wear it way more than I should this fall, but that's ok.

There's so many ways I have in mind for styling this sweater, but for the first time I decided to grab my corduroy skirt and finally bring out the over-the-knee boots. It was the perfect cozy look for fall, especially when the weather is just right.
