Workout Wednesday: Weekly Fitness Routine

Maintaining a workout schedule has been so difficult lately. With starting a new job I'm no longer able to go around 2 like I had a routine of doing. I tried waking up at 4:30 a.m. and well, that just wasn't happening haha. And I was never fond of working out anytime past 7 p.m. Just a personal preference. By body by that point is exhausted and the gym is always crowded, no thanks! I might give the whole waking up early another swing because it seems to be my only option if I want to maintain a consist workout schedule.. but I'll keep you updated on that 😜

The last time I shared my weekly fitness routine I was at the beginning stages of my workout program so things were pretty easy. I'm now getting through week 6 and things are definitely starting to heat up. Here's week 6 at a glance..

Saranghae Skin Care Review

One of my goals for the New Year was to take better care of my skin, so I got myself into a daily skin care routine. When the Saranghae team reached out to me about sending me their 5 Step Routine I was all for it, after doing some research on their unique ingredients of course. I'm 22 so an anti aging skincare regimen wasn't necessarily on the top of my list, but I know it's also never too early to start. I've been using the Saranghae Skin Care Routine since I unboxed it,  so today I'm reviewing it for you all.

Step 1: Nourishing & Moisturizing Oil + Foam Cleanser
This cleanser is so good! I've read reviews where people used this product to also remove their makeup, while it works great for removing foundations and concealers, I was never too fond of using products like this to remove eye makeup. Works for some, but I find that it always burns my eyes. Personally, I prefer to remove all my makeup with makeup wipes and then use this product. However, this product does wonders for my face! And it smells good. After using this product my face is left non-oily and soft.

Step 2: Deep Radiance Essence + Serum
This Serum was light, which I liked. It also didn't leave my face feeling oily. This serum is meant to help balance your skin's potential hydrogen level to prevent flair ups, inflammation, and break outs. I've been having trouble with break outs lately and since starting this routine, I've had one break out. When I started using this routine I stopped using all my other face products to see the full affects these products had. When I combine this serum with my other products, I think they're going to work great together.

Step 3: Firm and Lift Cellular Regeneration Cream
Just like the serum, this cream was light and left my face feeling hydrated and smooth. However, the scent wasn't my favorite. It was something I could get past though because I enjoyed this product.

Step 4: Focus Renewal Eye Cream
I have dark circles, bags, and wrinkles under my eyes--something I was lucky enough to inherit. So using an anti aging eye cream has been something I've been wanting to start using for awhile. Safe to say I was excited to get my hands on this. I'll be honest I haven't seen any results so far, other than the fact that my under eyes stay hydrated. I use to get dry spots under them here and there all the time. But, I've only been using this product for a week. I'll definitely continue to use this eye cream to see if it has any other positive affects.

Step 5: Elemental Essence Mask
I used my first mask last night and I loved it! It smelt so good and my face felt refreshed and hydrated afterwards. I'm going to incorporate these masks into my weekly skin care routine.

Overall, I think this was a great skin care routine. Typically every morning I wake up and my face is oily, but since starting this I wake up with smooth, non-oily skin every morning. I'm interested to see how this product works long term in combination with other skin care products I love. I'll share an updated review after a full month with these products.

Workout Wednesday: Nike Metcon 4 Review

Happy Valentine's Day! I don't know what it is about this day that makes me love it so much because it really is just any other day. But I still like to go with it and get Tyler a couple small gifts, which I totally nailed this year. They were more gag gifts than anything, but they're also things he'll use, so it all played out.

And who's happy we're halfway through the week?! I surely am. I started a new job on Monday and let me tell you.. I'm EXHAUSTED. My body has yet to adjust to this new schedule I'm on and it's wearing ya girl out. And a warning before you get into this post, I'm just now sitting down after a 15 hour day, so if something doesn't make sense just go with it because I probably don't even know 😂 #KeepingItReal

But anywho, I wanted to dedicate todays Workout Wednesday post to my current favorite sneakers. The Nikes I had before these I originally got when I started waitressing, so they were used as work sneakers rather than workout sneakers. When I got back into a fitness routine wearing them absolutely killed my ankles. For awhile I had been on the hunt for a good pair of workout shoes and I was willing to pay the price for them. When it comes to sneakers I don't like to splurge, but I'd rather do that than have horrible ankles.

The first thing that drew me to these shoes was the design, of course. I mean how could you not love these?! I had known nothing about this shoe other than the fact that they were a cute training shoe. I saw one of my favorite bloggers, Lauren Sims, post about them saying they were her favorite for weight and cross training, so I decided to make the purchase and here's my thoughts.

These shoes most definitely suck to break in. I already knew that every shoe won't have its true fit until you break them in, but if I had known how these would feel going into a hardcore leg workout for the first time I would have worn them around the house to break them in a little because it wasn't fun, lol. After I broke them in though the fit was amazing. I currently wear them when I do my BBG workouts and so far I haven't had any issues. My old Nikes would have me sliding all over the gym floor, but these grip super nicely which I like. They also don't hurt my ankles, major plus! The only thing I don't like is I now have to invest in a pair of running shoes as well because these aren't really made for running. I obviously knew that when purchasing them, but if you're someone who wants a one shoe for all kind of deal, I wouldn't suggest purchasing these. Honestly though, these shoes were so worth the money!

The Pants Your Spring Wardrobe Needs

Happy Friday, babes! I just recently started a new series on Netflix, Reign, and at first I was into it but was also multitasking while watching but now I can't get myself to do anything else. It took a few episodes, but it's so good! I had to pause it so I could get this blog post done ha.

But back to the main reason you all came here for. If you watched my try on haul on Insta stories where I showed these pants then you already know how in love with them I am. It's so hard for me to find cute dress pants that actually fit with me being so petite, especially at Express. I couldn't stop eyeing them in store and I ordered them thinking they weren't going to fit me, but to my surprise they're the perfect fit and I couldn't be any more obsessed. Obviously they're more of a spring/summer pant but I've worn them twice already because I'm over winter. Cozy sweaters and a million layers, it's been real but my spring items are calling my name.

Most people when they see these pants they'll assume you can only wear them for work and they're only meant to be dressed up--WRONG. I love having pieces like this in my wardrobe because the options for styling them are endless. The first time I wore them I went for a more casual look by adding a light pink sweater and fur slides. Here I chose to pair it with a classic tee and dress the look up with heels and of course, the velvet blazer. You can wear them with a t-shirt and sneakers, dressy tank and some flats, leather jacket and booties, I could go on and on. But just know that when you see the price, they're going to be more than worth it. Me, personally, I'll get my moneys worth out of these pants way before spring is even over.

PS: For sizing reference, I ordered a 00 Short.

Your New Favorite Guilt-Free Snack

My sweet tooth is something I'm still working on (baby steps people). I'm constantly on Pinterest looking for healthy snacks that actually taste good, so I wanted to share this newly favorite with all of you! It's both delicious and easy to make, so there's no doubt you'll love it as much as I do.

What you'll need:
1 container of blueberries
Plain greek yogurt - I use Stonyfield Organic

Putting these together is easy and takes less than 30 minutes. First I grab a bowl big enough to fit everything and I toss the blueberries in.

Then I add in the greek yogurt. Honestly, I don't measure this out because it's really all about your preference. I prefer the blueberries to be pretty coated, so I add roughly 2 cups. But if you don't want as much yogurt, go with 1 cup.

And just mix it all up!

I line two baking sheets with parchment paper (it may only take you one sheet). I place each blueberry on the sheet one by one, just because it creates less of a mess and they're easier to handle once frozen. You can just throw it all on the sheet and spread them out though, it'll take less time.

Let them sit in the freezer for an hour. Then place them in a container and store in the freezer for whenever you want to enjoy a delicious treat!

You can also try this out with different fruits besides blueberries! I've been wanting to cut up some strawberries and do this. I always save them for a night time snack because they fulfill my ice cream cravings. Let me know if you try these out and how you liked them!

Wine Not Tee: Express

Love First.

I've said it many times before and I'll say it again, J.Crew graphic tees give me life. They always have the cutest ones and they're so good! Graphic tees have also become a newly favorite of mine because they're so versatile. I've shared many ways on the blog where you can dress them up and a few ways to dress them down, in style of course.

Today on the blog I'm sharing a Valentines Day inspired look with this new Love First tee. I love how perfectly everything paired together! Instead of dinner, Tyler and I are doing a V-Day breakfast, so I personally won't be pairing this tee and skirt together than. But if you have some dinner date plans, this look is perfect. If you're not a heels kind of gal, opt out the heels for a cute pair of flats and if you want more festive colors, go with a red lip or earrings. I definitely would have added a cute pair of red earrings if I had some!

This skirt is one of those oh I totally forgot I even bought this two years ago kind of things, so it's no longer available. But I'll be linking some other great options that are perfect for Valentines if you want to recreate this look!
