Easy Layers

Happy Friday, everyone! Last night I was so excited because the weekend was right around the corner but then last minute when I'm cozied up in bed I remembered that I never edited my pics or wrote the content for todays post. So this will be one of those short and sweet ones ;)
. . . . . . .

I was really hesitant about this look when I first put it together. I wasn't sure if the T-shirt was a right fit and I went through half of my shoes and NOTHING was working out. But then I put on the booties and the entire look just seemed to come together perfectly. I love layers, especially when it comes to fall. It just allows so much room for re-wearing different pieces in your wardrobe different ways. It may look like I'm wearing a skirt, but it's actually a dress. In the colder weather I typically throw a sweater over it for cozy layers, but it was warm out this time so I grabbed an oversized T-shirt for layering and tied a knot making it the perfect date night look.

Must-Have Shoe For Fall + New Boutique Alert

Fur slides are such a hot trend right now. I've been wanting to get my hands on a pair since last season, but lets be real.. I'm ALL for affordable fashion and the Gucci fur slides were just not an option. So when I saw these Steve Madden dupes I went crazy because they were under $100, yes please! When the weather started to cool down I automatically wanted to wear them and let me tell you, they are the comfiest. They will no doubt be a staple item in my fall wardrobe and I can't wait to have some fun with them.

Another item I have been loving in my wardrobe lately is this cold shoulder top. A few weeks ago I attended the soft opening of the Nicole Taylor Boutique in Downtown Lancaster for my internship. I went to scope out the place and take some pics, but ended up falling in love with the place! There were so many cute and unique pieces, I wanted them all lol. If you're in the area I highly recommend stopping in!
I live about 45 minutes from Lancaster so I hardly get out there, but I'm definitely going back to check out the newest styles in the boutique and hunt down some other boutiques.

Putting Summer To End.. Kinda?

It's been a little bittersweet having to transition my closet from summer to fall, but with all the cute fall items I've been adding to my wardrobe lately I'm getting in the spirit. However, this 80 degree weather has been killing my vibe. It's like I want to dress in jeans and a cute top, but by the afternoon it's SO hot out.. what is this?! So while the weather is still warm I figured I'd share some fall inspired looks for a warm day.

I adore this top! I wear it in the summer and transition it into my fall/winter wardrobe. I love the bell sleeves and lace detail. During warmer weather I prefer pairing it with a pair of white denim shorts and some nude flats. It definitely pulls together the warmer tones of the look, making it perfect for a fall outfit!

Metallic Meets Suede + Short Life Update

Happy Friday, everyone!! I'm seriously so excited it's the weekend, it's unreal lol. I'm up between 5:30-6:00 a.m. Monday-Friday for work so when Friday hits I'm a whole new, much energized person. The last time I gave a life update I was in the job hunting process and a few months have passed so I wanted to give another update.

I'm back working full-time at Subway, my old high school job. Finding a job in my field started becoming stressful so when I found something consistent and full-time, I put the real job search on hold. I simply wanted to take a breather to get my mind straight and figure out what was next. During that time I made the decision to reach out to a few companies of interest in regards to an internship and I landed one with Susquehanna Style Magazine. I've been interning with them for maybe a month now, but I absolutely love it. I'm doing things that I love to do and that I'm passionate about, so I'm really thankful for the opportunity.

I haven't completely put the entire 'what's next' process on hold. Doing things that I love like interning for Susquehanna Style and creating new content for A Small Town Fashionista makes me realize what I truly want do to with my future, so I do have plans. Some of which are very big plans, but I'm keeping those a secret until I make my final decisions ;)

One perk of my internship is that I'm able to attend some pretty awesome events. Last weekend I attended York City Boutique Weeks cocktail hour and fashion show, which really made me want to dig into my closet and put together different and fun looks. This look came as a result of one of them and I am obsessed! This metallic skirt has always been one of my favorites but I never wanted to branch out and see the many ways I was able to style it, until now. I paired the skirt with a simple black cami and wanted to add some fall vibes to it so I pulled out the suede moto jacket. I was iffy about it at first but I loved the way it turned out! Mixing different textures with this look worked perfectly.

Skirt | Cami | Heels | Suede Jacket

* I purchased my skirt last year from Charlotte Russe and it's no longer available, wanted to link one with a lot of sizing options.

* I also purchased the jacket last year, hoping it comes back in stock and I'll keep you updated if it does, but here's a similar, inexpensive, one.
