Monday Morning Coffee With Alyssa No. 13

Happy Monday, everyone! I can't believe it's been a week since I've last posted on here. I originally had an entire week planned out of sharing with everyone my spring break trip, but as some of you know that didn't work out. I decided to just take that entire week off from blogging, do some planning, and just relaxI was definitly able to do the relaxing part. However, for this post I'm going to try to go a different route and see where it takes me..

So long story short as to why my trip didn't work out.. Tyler and I were going to get a rental car, as his car was currently out of service and I didn't feel comfortable taking my car across country. When we got there to pick up the rental car (12 hours before we were planning on leaving for our trip) the lady kept jerking us around every way possible, so it got to the point where all we could do was say forget it. I was furious, at this point all I wanted to do was go back to my own apartment and stay there the entire week. Eventually, Tyler and I decided we were still going to travel to Tennessee for a couple of days. There we toured the Jack Daniels distillery and explored Lynchburg, went to Nashville, and discovered the CUTEST town, Franklin.

The point of me telling all of this was to show that you shouldn't let one little bump in the road ruin your attitude, or week for that matter. This was a trip that was being planned for 1+ months, so when something came in between that I took it out on everyone around me even though they were just trying to help. If I had spent the entire week at my apartment I would have been miserable. Although it was all we did, exploring Tennessee turned out to be amazing! I was scrolling through Pinterest the other day and came upon the quote above, "train your mind to see the good in everything." I thought it was a perfect quote and something everyone should try and do. Right after I said I wanted to go to my apartment Tyler said to me, "no you're not going back to the apartment where you'll just sit on the couch, we have the entire week to do and go where ever we want to, we're going to do something." It was true, we could go and do whatever we wanted but I didn't want to see it that way. It was either our trip or no trip, which isn't the right attitude. If you go through life throwing a fit over things not going you're way you're going to be living a miserable life. As everyone says, life is short so use that bump in the road to do something even better.

Thanks for reading!
